About Me

I have probably answered some version of the question, “Can my dog eat this?” more times than I can count.

Usually it starts with something completely ordinary. Someone is standing in the kitchen with a piece of fruit in one hand and a curious dog staring at them with those enormous, hopeful eyes. Or they have just opened the refrigerator and wondered whether yesterday’s leftovers are safe to share. Sometimes the question is about something as simple as carrots or eggs. Sometimes it is something much less obvious.

I understand the worry behind those questions because I have been the person standing in the kitchen wondering, too.

My love of dogs started early, with muddy paws, scratched-up doors, and a succession of tennis balls that somehow disappeared beneath every piece of furniture in the house. As I got older, I became fascinated by how much our everyday choices can affect a dog’s comfort and well-being, especially when it comes to food.

I created this site because pet food information can feel unnecessarily confusing. There are so many opinions, ingredient lists, trends, warnings, and confident-sounding claims floating around online. Sometimes you just want a straightforward answer.

That is what I try to provide.

I write about foods dogs can and cannot eat, common ingredients, treats, feeding habits, and practical questions that come up in ordinary households. I like digging into the details, but I never want the information to feel intimidating. A good guide should leave you feeling more informed, not more anxious.

I also believe there is something wonderfully personal about feeding a dog. It is one of those quiet routines that becomes part of your relationship. The little dance around the food bowl. The hopeful stare when you open a cupboard. The familiar sound of paws following you into the kitchen.

Dogs give us so much trust. I think it is worth returning that trust with a little care and curiosity.

I am not here to pretend that every dog is the same. Age, size, allergies, medical conditions, medications, and individual sensitivities can all matter. When a food question involves a possible toxin, serious reaction, or health condition, I believe in knowing when it is time to stop searching the internet and call a veterinarian.

Mostly, though, I am here for the everyday questions.

The banana that fell on the floor. The carrot your dog is begging for. The suspicious look they give you when you eat something without sharing.

Those little moments are where a lot of pet parenting happens, and I love helping make them a little easier to navigate.
